Her parents expected her to go to trainer school with them, but Koda dropped out after a few months in order to train on her own. Reggie and Riley act like brothers, they love to pick on one another, but when push comes to shove they quickly drop their teasing and are capable of accomplishing great things. Of the two Riley is a bit smarter than Reggie, but he doesn't have as good a sense of humor. When Reggie plays pranks on him he is much more likely to get angry and scorch Reggie with an ember attack.

This little Pokemon is fun-loving and lives for nothing more than a good laugh. He isn't as clever as Riley, and his pranks often end up failing. When they do work Reggie's jokes tend to be a bit more cruel, which causes Riley to lash out and attack him. When the two are forced into battle they are very powerful when allowed to work as a team, using fire and water pledge together making the attack significantly more powerful than they would normally be. The Pokemon have a very strong connection to Koda, they consider her a part of the family and aren't afraid to prank her on occasion.
