In a time before Sanyo Weyr's birth, the land was nothing more than a massive cavern in the middle of a mountain chain across the Northern continent. A Greenrider had happened across the cut out landscape and found that from the sky, it look alike her Weyr, Solar Weyr. With this news, the Greenrider returned to Solar Weyr reporting the whereabouts of this interesting landscape.
However, the Senior Weyrwoman of Solar Weyr had enough problems with the threat of Threadfall returning and the cavern was forgotten for several more Turns. It wasn't until 10 Turns passed that the interesting landscape was rediscussed. With Solar Weyr finally calming down from the Threadfall and the Senior Queen seeming to get ready for another Rise, the Senior Weyrwoman had her Weyrleader go find out about this cavern. When the Weyrleader returned, he reported that the area was capable of being turned into a Weyr.
Many, many Turns later, Sanyo Weyr was created, named after the Greenrider that had founded the cavern that was turned into the Weyr Bowl. With Sanyo Weyr complete and the Senior Queen of Solar Weyr become broody at the four other Queens in her Weyr, two Queens were transferred to Sanyo Weyr, along with seven Bronzes, ten Browns, eleven Blues, and twenty Greens, including the aged Sanyo.
Times passed by so fast and before the people of Sanyo Weyr knew it, the birth date of their Weyr was upon them once more. Five Turns passed with no disruption, beside Thread, to the daily lives of the Weyrfolk. With one of the Queens on the Sands and her clutch about to hatch, the air was filled with excitement; this clutch was massive. The first egg to hatch was a young Bronze, bring good fortune to a lucky Candidate, who walked off with his dragonet. The next couple of eggs hatched normal colors. Then the excitement turned sour with the hatching of a dark black dragonet. This dragonet quickly put his mark on history, with as soon as he was clear of his shell, he mauled a candidate, then turned his wrath on a Brown dragonet that hadn't yet found His yet. The Brown dragonet died on the Sands, while the newly hatched Onyx found His among the Stands. The next couple of eggs that hatched were normal, but the strange Onyx was followed by a shiny, silvery dragonet that seemed to weak to even leave his shell. This dragonet Impressed a female who have never shown any interest in the opposite gender. As the Weyrfolk hoped for a Queen, they were disappointed when no Gold was hatched. However; a glimmer of hope was found at the mother Gold lifted her wing, showing off a hidden egg. It was massive and from it hatched a bright red dragonet.
The Onyx, the Silver, and the Ruby were the new colors of the dragon world. After the first hatching, the Silver was rarely seen, even more rare than the Ruby and Gold who became the new Queens.
In total, twenty-five Turns have passed since the birth of Sanyo Weyr. The new colors of the dragons have made their marks in the sand of Sanyo and now the Weyr is being led by a Rubyrider called Filonna. However, there has been disturbing news that a Weyr in the Southern continent might be rising up against the Northern and Sanyo and Solar Weyr are two of the few Weyrs left to protect Pern. Not even the threat of Thread has been more frightening than a battle with dragon verses dragon. Filonna must hurry, to find out if the rumors are true, before she loses her home Weyr to this threat.
