It was also to broaden her horizons; to get a view for the world outside of Kanto and Johto. She had been to other regions, of course, but the mainland ones were all pretty similar. Unova was very far off, and she had heard that it was much different. Entirely different Pokemon, types of people, customs... It intrigued her. And what better way to learn about different places than actually going there? The flight there had been long. Janine had never cared much for airplane flights. And because of that, hadn't actually flown on them much. Her thoughts were that if she was going to be flying, it would be with a Flying type, not a a cramped, manmade structure. Though the distance between Kanto and Unova didn't exactly allow for that. Wandering around Striaton City, Janine still felt a little bit funny after that flight. Her movements were a bit wobbly, drawing a little bit of attention to herself. No! This wasn't how a ninja, more specifically, a Gym Leader was supposed to be acting. Janine gave it her best in straightening her posture, and walking in a straight line instead of zigzagged. Eventually she reached what seemed like a little tourist stand. She... Wasn't exactly a tourist, but learning about the city was her top priority at the moment. Janine picked up a brochure and wandered off to a nearby bench. Flipping through it, she raised her eyebrows in curiosity. One of the top attractions was the city's Pokemon gym, which hosted three different gym leaders. Depending on what a trainer's starter Pokemon was, they would battle the leader who's own Pokemon had a type advantage over it. Hm, what an interesting way to challenge trainers. How interesting...! Maybe she'd have to try the gym challenge one day. Though, with her own gym leader status, that might be difficult. Ah, well... As Janine continued to read over the brochure, a crowd started to form not far off from her. It seemed to consist of... Teenage girls? [style=width: 100px; height: 100px; padding: 10px; float: right;][/style] Had one of the gym leaders come out or something...? She couldn't exactly think of any other reason. So, she stood up reluctantly, and looked over. In the middle of the crowd was a boy who also looked to be in his teens. Ah, Janine understood the picture now. She mentally snickered. This boy must be trying to show off to all those girls, or was chatting them up. Something that involved getting 'brownie points.' Ha! How amusing...

But the first part of his adventure would soon come to a close as he had finally found the gym. It was an amazing accomplishment for he had a terrible sense of direction. He might have grown during his adventure……….metaphorically speaking of course. Collin walked up to the gym building and researched everything he could about the gym. Knowing was half the battle of course. Once he had finally done that he smiled and started to laugh. “What a stupid gym, their going to use the Pokemon that is weak to Snivy! They might as well just give me the badge.” Then a thought popped into his head, and the gears in his head turned trying to make this thought an actual plan. For whatever reason there were plenty of girls walking the streets of these town…. plenty of cute ones his age and everything. He rubbed his chin and smiled a wide toothy grin. The factory that was his head had come up with something quite brilliant. He took a deep breath in and shouted out his sales pitch. “Inviting all pretty girls, come one come all to see my Collin Duskly in my very first pokemon battle of all time. And who will I be facing you ask? None other then the Gym Leader of Striaton City Cress. And I am so confident in my skills that I promise you I will beat him on the very first try.” He said with a large smile and….to his surprise girls were listening to him. Lots of girls he almost started to cry. It was heaven for him. Once he felt like he had him reeled in he held up his Pokeball to the skys. “Yes, with just a Snivy and a Patrat I will be able to defeat Cress in my very first Pokemon battle. I welcome you all to come and watch!” He said bowing after he was done his speech, wondering how many girls would come and watch his epic victory. Collin could see it now, he would proudly where his gym badge on all the dates he was going to get by fans.
