She was originally born in Undella town, but I think she moved to Nacrene later, before she became a gym leader. My idea is that, when she was 16, and Arti was 12, there was a small mishap and his parents had to go out of town for some reason. Lenora, one of the responsible neighborhood kids, was recruited into looking after Arti, even if the rest of the kids were terrified (for some strange reason) to accepting the job. Lenora tends to be patient, so she was very tolerant of Arti as he babbled to her about small things in his life and she listened patiently, making sure he didn't do anything that she was told he wasn't allowed to do. Even though his parents came back later that night, maybe Arti couldn't stop talking about how awesome Lenora was because she listened to him and actually responded, idk. ANYWAY, Lenora became his permanent babysitter and she looked after him whenever his parents were out and they formed an awkward bond, mostly because she was being paid to come to his house and listen to him for a few hours. She didn't mind. She would have done it, even if she weren't getting paid. After he reached sixteen/eighteen/your choice, Lenora concentrated on becoming a trainer and soon became a gym leader. She found out about Arti being a gym leader as well, they re-connected blahblahblah. And now Lenora has a motherly approach over the thin bug trainer and wants to make sure that he's on the right road. She can probably come visit him pretty often or he can come over and she'll make him some food and get him all settled in. ALSO. Ari the Smeargle is awkward as BALLS and Lenora doesn't know what to do with him, perhaps Arti can help? YES/NO? Erase all of it, if you need to. [/style]

Ashley/Sarah and Burgh
These two would get along great with Burgh given his attitude I've taken note of in IC. They love making friends and Burgh seems just happy as can be.

Keith and Burgh
Well you can't expect a member of Rebel Force and a Gym Leader to get along well. Keith will give you a reason to absolutely despise the Rebels. He could try and beat you up or perhaps steal your pokemon leading to a sequence of Burgh trying to get back what belongs to him. At this point it's pretty neutral.

[ARTI GREENBURGH]

ARCHER FAUL: Well, Art sees tries his hardest to see merit in everybody, so a friendship isn't out of the question, rebel or not. However, the Arti side of the friendship would probably be one of quiet, reverent terror- a sort of "please don't hurt me" situation. I don't know when or why they'd realistically coincide, but Castelia's pretty big and diverse; anything's possible. PS: Expect some "AREN'T YOU AFRAID OF DESTROYING YOUR LUNGS?!" about the menthols, though.

@naynay: we discussed a fair amount in the CBOX, so I'm not sure how much I need to reiterate here. Lenaynay-Sr was a nurse; it was her duty to take care of Creep when he was a sick horrible toddler. Lenora took on the job when she was old enough. They were pretty tight until Art was too old for a babysitter and Lenora went to focus on training. They lost touch (boohoo!) for awhile, sending the odd e-mail and hearing about each other's affairs through their parents, who stayed in contact. When Art became a gym leader, the two met up again and he made super-extra-effort to stop by the gym whenever he was in town. He still does and it is probably very, very annoying. Let's face it: not much has changed since Lenora was babysitting him. He's still pretty much the same, but is a little taller and wears deodourant now (sometimes). Plawt-wise, we could mess with some of the times Art visits the Nacrene City gym to irritate and terrorize. Thoughts?

@keith: you mentioned stealing and beating up. Creep carries mace. Watch out.

Friends

I see the two of them as possible friends, but more similar to that of a brother sister relationship. The biggest factor in their friendship would probably be the fact that they're both semi obsessive over bug pokemon. The two of them are both childish and somewhat... animated, high maintenance, and overtly sweet. The reason why I see a brother sister relationship is because from your application it sounds like Arti has the patience to put with Mari's attempts to needle him and well... she acts just like a little kid. Besides if Arti is bug obsessive, Mari wouldn't mind overlooking a few character flaws just to squee over some bug pokemon and will probably be less likely to play her games with him. I can actually see her considering him to be a true friend. That is of course if her association with Rebel Forces gets her into trouble.
