This was where he grew up. It wasn't the greatest childhood, but it was definitely something. His family didn't leave here anymore thank god, but he felt he was still apart of this city. Keiichi walked straight to the water. He slowly bent down towards the water and let the waves run through his fingers. The water was softer than he remembered. It had been 5 years since the last time he had been to this city, seemed like longer.
He stood up as he spotted an upcoming ship headed towards the harbor. About two to three ships come into the Slateport Port every day, this cycle rarely broke. He brushed back his brown hair as he gazed over at the ship. It felt so weird for him to be back in this city again. He was never expecting to come back, but he came here for a reason. He had to find his Pokemon. He had left it behind to comfort a good friend of his five years ago, in the hands of someone he trusted. That was definitely something that was rare. Keiichi had a hard time trusting people, one of the many things he wanted to change about himself. Was it because of how his family treated him that he had such a difficult time being around others?
He was tired. He had been walking for at least two full days with no rest to get here as soon as he could. He had to get his Minun back. He hated having to leave him here, but he had to. He knew that Minun was in good hands, but he had missed him terribly. The boy took a long sigh as he made his way towards the port. His friend would be on that ship; he was actually heading this way to find his parents, but he had promised Keiichi that he woudl be bringing Minun along with him to return to him.
Finally reaching the docks, Keiichi leaned up against the banisters and waited for the ship in his usual cool pose. He was obviously quiet and didn't care much for the people hovering around him. He crossed his arms as he waited, yet time seemed to go slower the closer the ship got.[/style][style=font-family: Helvetica Neue; color: #cacaca; font-size: 25px; letter-spacing: 5px; text-align: center; font-weight: 100!important;]OUT ON THE CORNER IN THE POURING RAIN![/style] |

Until very recently, she'd never even left her hometown, so the expanse of people on Slateport made the shy girl long for the ability to run back to Johto. There was no where that Hope had been that was really that busy. Sure Goldenrod was big, but she'd been doing her training there only briefly for her nursing. She was so close to realising her dream. Faith cuddled into her arms as she rested her elbows against the railing of the boat, blue eyes dark with fear. She'd never been good with people, and her lack of social interaction had only made things worse. Finn had been the only outgoing one of their group, and she was still older. She wasn't a play-mate. Sighing, Hope let her eyes fall to the water beneath the ship, almost wishing she had never stepped on it in the first place.
She just... had to remind herself why she was here. She was here to find Cecily, and to learn about the Pokemon here. She knew tons about the Johto Pokemon, but not nearly enough about Hoenn yet. Lifting one hand, she shifted her bag higher onto her shoulder, wincing as the sharp corner of a book poked her through the material. No matter how she packed them, the books always managed to find some unprotected part of her body to poke and cause pain and bruises. Hope generally ignored them, they were needed to continue her training so she could be an authorised nurse. She may not be like Yellow or Lance, and be able to heal with a touch but... But she would heal. And she would help people.
The problem about big ships going to big cities, was that quiet people were rarely noticed. Well, that was a lie. The dangerous quiet ones, the ones that watched everything and said nothing, they were noticed. Truly shy people; however, were ignored. They weren't a threat or a point of interest. Ever so slowly, people began moving towards the shore. Then that slow trickle became a steady stream of people that hade Hope squeaking and struggling to stay on her feet while she stumbled around and attempted to keep her footing and avoid falling over the railing at the same time. "I don't like the city, Faith." She whispered, breathing a sigh of relief as her feet hit the solid ground that was the port.
Evidently, the sigh of relief was too soon. Someone bumped hard into her back, which sent her sprawling into a boy sprawled against the banisters and then back onto the floor. "I'm so sorry! Oww.." Her first thought was to hurriedly apologise, glancing up at Keiichi with wide blue eyes, before blushing and hurriedly attempting to pick up the books that had spilled from her bag when she'd fallen. "I'm really, re-really sor-sorry. I d-didn't-- Excuse me-- I... I really... s-sor-sorry.." She continued to mumble, tugging her biggest textbook towards her right before someone stepped on it and reaching for the next one. credit :: by columba of on the edge![/style] |

This was the right boat wasn't it? The awkward boy groaned some as he stood up straight thinking about giving up. He could always call his friend later and meet up with him at some point in the day. Right as he was starting to walk off, the young brunette bumped into him and watched as she fell backwards. He was a little short for words as he kind of spaced watching her. He really wasn't expecting something like that to happen. He finally snapped himself back out of it and knelt down to help her pick up her books.
"N-no, don't worry about it." He gathered together as many books as he could and handed them to the young girl. "I'm sorry though, I-I should've moved out of the way." He was so awkward around people and even more around girls, especially girls that were as cute as she was. He cleared his throat nervously as he stood up. Now that everything was picked up, he was sure that she would be on her way, they always were. He wished she wouldn't leave. He really could use a friend, someone he could actually count on. He always seemed to come off cold, but he never meant it that way. Maybe he could try his best to be friendly.
"So, w-where are you headed? There's no way you could be by yourself, can you?" A sweet looking girl like this shouldn't be left alone. Did she not have an escort or anything? It was dangerous for girls to be out in a new place by themselves. She's in a completely new region completely separated from every other region, she had to have someone here waiting for her. He was worried for her, he always did even though it didn't show well. He was so unused to speaking with people, it was obvious. And that only made it more awkward for him.[/style][style=font-family: Helvetica Neue; color: #cacaca; font-size: 25px; letter-spacing: 5px; text-align: center; font-weight: 100!important;]OUT ON THE CORNER IN THE POURING RAIN![/style] |

Hope mumbled softly, taking the books gently and piling them up in her bag gently. Her books were everything to her, they meant the world... the key to her future and her dreams really. It was nice of the stranger to help her pick them up, even if it had been her own fault she'd accidently bumped into him. Not that Hope would ever have done it on purpose, oh no, she wouldn't have done anything of the sort. The idea of interacting with another person like that made her freeze up inside, her crippling shyness strangling anything she might have said into a stammer that she barely managed to get out past her lips. Keeping her face ducked down to her bag as she tightened the fastenings on her bag while Faith leaned closer to help her, pulling the top down while Hope bound it up.
"No, i-it was m-my fa-fault. I-I'm not a-acustomed t-to big c-cities." she stammered eventually, smiling at her pokemon and leaning back to heave the heavy bag up into her arms. Struggling for a moment, she finally got it swung onto her back before opening her arms so Faith could jump into them, cuddling the Happiny close to her chest.
Hope wasn't the type of girl to naturally assume someone was cold, most people thought the same of her. Her inability to talk to people seemed to make her come across as chilling and cold, or anti-social, when really, there was nothing she wanted more than to have a friend who actually liked her. Rocking back on her heels to get to her feet, Hope inwardly smiled at her ability to use her legs to get to her feet, rather than struggling to use her arms to get herself from chair to chair. She'd been weak physically before, and that was no more. Lifting her hand to brush her light brown hair back from her face, Hope's blue eyes were mixed with shyness and an eagerness to talk to someone that wasn't going to laugh at her or mock her for her inability to talk to people properly.
"Um.. Well... I'm... I-i'm not really sure." She admitted quietly, dropping her gaze to the ground to hide the blush that instantly stained her cheeks. she'd come looking for Cecily, it was just she didn't really know... where cecily was. She didn't know which town she was in, or what part of the region, or even anything about the region. Chewing on her lip silently for a moment, Hope managed a very small, shy smile as she cuddled Faith to her.
"I-I came l-looking f-for m-my sister... B-but... I-I've n-never be-been to Hoenn... An-and I-i'm not s-sure wh-where sh-she is.." she shrugged slightly, blushing a darker pink and nodding slightly.
"I-I'm al-alone, y-yes... My na-name is Hope... th-this is Faith." credit :: by columba of on the edge![/style] |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #333333; padding: 5px; width: 210px, bTable][style=opacity: 0.7; background-color: #494949; padding: 4px;][/style] [style=font-family: Helvetica Neue; color: #cacaca; font-size: 25px; letter-spacing: 7px; text-align: center; font-weight: 100!important;]I DON'T MIND SPENDING EVERY DAY[/style] [style=background-color: #494949; padding: 5px; font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 10px; color: #cacaca; text-align: justify;]So she was looking for her sister and couldn't find her? Is there anyway that he could help her find this Cecily person? The name didn't sound familiar so it wasn't like he could just help her right off the bat. He wasn't even used to being this nice to people. Anybody could tell you that Keiichi was usually pretty cold to people. It was just easier that way. It was easier for him just to push people away then have to deal with him, but this girl seemed to really need someone and Keiichi was somewhat willing to help her out.
He was a little at a loss for how to treat this young girl. She reminded him of a younger sister, someone who really just needs some guidance, could that be why she was searching for her sister? Keiichi never really knew how it felt like to have younger or older siblings that he could treat that way. He was an only child and was treated like hell by his parents, especially his dad. Could that be why he was so cold to everyone? There wasn't really any reason though to be nice to people. They would soon be on their way and forget about him, so why bother?
Keiichi sighed to himself, the least he could do was get this girl to the Pokemon Center where Nurse Joy could help her. She was usually the best person to go to when you needed directions. "Follow me. I'll take you to someone who can probably help you out." Keiichi turned and slowly walked towards the Pokemon Center. This girl seemed about as awkward as he did at times and it was starting to get really quiet between the two. He wasn't used to having to start up the conversation and keep it going. What could he possibly say to her? She seemed like a very studious, not very confident little girl and other than the awkwardness, there wasn't really any comparison between the two. He had never liked being around books, they made him feel even worse.
By this point they had finally gotten to the doors of the Pokemon Center. The doors slid open automatically and Keiichi immediately walked up to the nice pink-haired lady. She was working hard on something on the computer and wasn't really paying attention to them as they walked up to her. "U-um, this girl is looking for someone...and I was wondering if you could help her out."[/style][style=font-family: Helvetica Neue; color: #cacaca; font-size: 25px; letter-spacing: 5px; text-align: center; font-weight: 100!important;]OUT ON THE CORNER IN THE POURING RAIN![/style] |

The less Keiichi talked, the more at ease Hope felt with him. Talking was hard, she'd never been very good at it, and thus asking the impossible of her was hardly fair. Still Keiichi seemed to suffer from the same shyness she did, even if it was a little less obvious in the young man than her stuttering. When he sighed, the sound made Hope jump, her blue eyes flickering uncertainly to his face in worry. Had she annoyed him? She hadn't really said anything! But he'd been so quiet, maybe he found her an annoyance. She should have fled when she'd had the chance, her ability to make friends had obviously only gotten worse as she'd gotten older.
Follow him? Once again, Hope's eyes flickered up to his face before a tentative smile slowly twitched up onto her features and she fell into step behind him. How far away did one walk from someone like him? Two steps? Three steps? What was the correct manner in which to act when someone offered help - as gruffly as it had been given? "Th-thank you..." She managed to mumble eventually, following behind him silently as they walked. Conversation wasn't Hope's strong point, and nor was meeting strangers - Keiichi was asking for both. Not intentionally, but it was taking all of Hope's will power not to bolt from him with the oppressive silence weighing on her shoulders. Some part of her knew she should probably say something, anything, but even when she opened her mouth, she couldn't force anything to the fore.
Though Hope was sure the nurse in question was nice, her feet froze not even half way to the woman. Panic flooding her mind as she eased back a step instead. Even if Keiichi looked at her, Hope's eyes were fixed on the floor, Faith twisting her little head to look up at her worriedly. "I can't." She barely managed to choke out, barely managing to flicker a panicked glance up at Keiichi before she took another hurried step back. "I-I-I c-ca-can't t-ta-talk to s-str-strang-strangers... I-I'm s-sorry... I-I'll fi-find h-her on m-my o-own..." She didn't want to bother Keiichi any more and as much as she wanted to find Cecily, the strength to walk over to the counter and the Joy was just too much for the shy girl right at that moment. Finally managing to bring her frightened gaze back up to his face, Hope shook her head slightly. "I ca-can't... I'm s-sorry.." TAGGED WORDS NOTES Sorry, muse dying~
