Only for it to be closed on the weekend, it was like fate itself was trying to prevent him from winning his first badge. And he was so looking forward to it as well, all the ladies in town would want to come watch and see his amazing Pokemon skills. He’d probably have to sign autographs for the little kids, he’d be asked to be on talk shows his face would be on the cover of magazines. People would say how his battling skills would be the best in the entire world!
…..he could dream….
He sighed as he wondered what he could do with his newly acquired free time, he figured a trip to the pokemon center to make sure his pokemon were fully healedand to see nurse joy. As he walked he noticed some screams and commotion, it seemed a Skitty had gotten itself caught in a tree; no one seemed to be doing anything about it and Collin always wanted to play the hero. He climbed up the tree in mighty strides only to fall hard on the ground. There were a few snickers in the audience but nothing that deterred Collin at all. He was a very stubborn manif his love life was any indication so something like gravity would never keep him down. He eventually made it up to the tree and where the Pokemon shivered in fear of it’s height. He made sure to slowly crawl towards it, but it wasn’t slow enough as the Skitty scratched his hand. But that did not deter him and eventually he had caught the kitty pokemon. He climbed down the pokemon not to pleased with him, but when he got down it hopped out of the dwarf’s hands and into the arms of its young owner. The young boy looked at him and was obviously a little scared at Collin’s height. The boy left without so much as a thank you, which caused Collin to sigh. “No need to thank me realy.” He said sarcastically as he went back to walking to the center. Hopefully they’d be able to fix up his hand as well.

With several colorful large shopping bags in hand, the young gym leader skipped happily down the streets, window-shopping here and there as she passed the various stores. Surely, she would have to tell Elesa and Arti about the hidden treasures the city had to offer. Though it was no Nimbasa or Castelia, the lack of large crowds and the city’s homey feeling gave it its own special charm.
Unlike her normal attire, Skyla was dressed in a dainty yellow sun dress, her red hair let down simply for the occasion of being out and about and away from her gym. She had planned to dress accordingly in order to become a face in the crowd – not Skyla, nor the gym leader of Mistralton – and so far, so good. There was hardly a soul in the city that recognized her, but if it weren’t for the newly purchased aviators framing her face, she was sure there would have been a crowd. A crowd of trainers tagging on her feet like wild lillipups, all begging her for a battle. And, while she did love training and battling, she was still a girl who needed to wind down sometimes.
As she turned the corner to move out of the shopping district, she blinked at the sight of a semi-large crowd of people gathered around a tree up ahead. Pursing her lips, she moved closer in curiosity until she could hear the commotion. Apparently, a little skitty had gotten stuck in a tree, and now a young boy was displaying an act of heroicness – albeit a little clumsily – by trying to save it.
She smiled when, at last, the boy came down from the tree holding the little pokemon. The poor skitty looked so obviously confused and frightened, but as soon as it was back in its owner’s arms, the pair had continued on as if nothing had happened. And the hero, too, began to make his way somewhere else. Skyla hurriedly followed after him, tapping him on the shoulder with a bright grin on her face. “Nice job back there little guy! You really did that other kid a favor!” Even if the other trainer hadn’t exactly expressed his gratitude – she caught that much from the hero’s sarcastic tone – she could still commend him for such an act of kindness and bravery.
She peered down at the boy and noticed his bloodied hand. Without giving him a chance to reply, her blue eyes widened, and she grabbed his hand without thinking to examine it. “Little skitty sure has claws! You poor thing, we’ve gotta get you to Nurse Joy ASAP! She’ll fix that right up for you.” She was positive the change of style had made her pretty unknown to him, but on her part, there was a sense of recognition. The more she looked at his face, the more familiar he seemed to get. She knew him…
It all came back to her. This was Collin, the new trainer from Twinleaf Town that she had met recently, who was also a totally adoring fan of hers. He had even gone so far as to ask her out on a date once; she smiled a bit in embarrassment at the memory.
Her mouth opened to say something, but remembering she was supposed to be playing the part of a random Striaton woman, rather than Skyla, kept her tongue in cheek. She looked past his shoulder to look for the familiar building as a distraction. “O-oh, look. The pokemon center’s not too far away,” Skyla mused aloud, dropping his hand suddenly. “I’ll walk you there!” [/style] [style=font-family:georgia; color:#d5d5d5; margin-bottom:-6px; letter-spacing:1.2px; text-align:right; text-transform: lowercase; border-bottom:1px solid #6f6f6f; margin-top:-16px]COME BREAK ME WITH ICE[/style] [style=font-size:9px; text-align:justify; line-height:1em; color:#b7b7b7; margin-top:-8px] tagged: collin~ words: 613 notes: sorry it sucks. A true hero does his heroic deeds without the satisfaction of knowing that others were thankful for it. A true knight does things just because he has to, not wanting the extra attention. But he couldn’t put that mentality in his mind and was still a little depressed that no one had really thanked him. Or gave him a true hero’s reward or anything like that.
But then a silver ray of hope shined on his heart. A women had thanked him for his actions, and not just any women a women he quickly recognized, even though she was disguised Collin knew that the women before him was the one and only Skyla. The women he loved with all his heart, and so far the most beautiful women Collin had ever met. And he made it his job to meet a lot of women as well. Then without any warning Skyla grabbed his hand….he grabbed his hand….SKYLA….was grabbing HIS hand. He blushed as he looked up at the gym leader. “Oh Skyla~ You’re warm touch is better then any treatment they could give me at a Pokemon center~”
His heart broke a little when she dropped his hand, but then when she said she would walk him to the Pokemon center that wound was quickly healed. She obviously loved him that had to be it. “Oh Skyla, don’t worry about me. How about me and you go and get some lunch or something. I’ll buy~” His hand was actually bleeding from the scratch but that did not deter him. Hell he didn’t even notice any pain in his hand, all he was focused on was Skyla. “But what brings you here anyway Skyla?~ Did you want to come see my very first gym battle~ That’s it isn’t it. Oh I know it is~” This day was turning out pretty great for the dwarf, and was quite excited to see how it would progress.
