♕ WE'RE TAKING CONTROL we get what we want, we do what you don't, dirt and glitter cover the floor, we're pretty and sick, we're young and we're bored
Sometimes Aidan thought that his forest was too close to home. Admittedly, it wasn't actually his forest, he just spent the majority of his time there. And it wasn't even that close to his hometown. It was the same region, yes, but Eterna Forest was on the far side of Sinnoh, on the opposite side of Mount Coronet from Sunyshore City. But sometimes it still felt too close, still felt far too close to the place he'd called home for so long. The place Gabrielle had called home for so long.
It bothered him how little he'd seen of the brown haired girl in recent times. They used to be all around each other, constantly in the way. Now it was once, maybe twice a month at most that they stumbled across each other. It bothered him that she was probably getting far, far ahead of him in terms of rebel business, but he had to say his distraction was certainly worth it. His beautiful pink haired distraction.
When he had first met her, really met her and not just watched her attack Racher, she had been in the company of Tenmar, trying to get that bloody ranger side to appear more. He'd hated her then, he wasn't going to deny that, what with her trying to take away the half of the man that he actually felt was somewhat tolerable. He hadn't expected to continue to run into her. He hadn't expected her to provoke his lust. He hadn't expected her to practically welcome it, taking all that he gave and standing strong, almost asking for more. He hadn't expected to have made her his.
It was all her fault that he was spending so much time in the forest nowadays, instead of being out across the regions doing his job. He kept up his quota, yes, and his personal quota as well, but then his free time was spent in her presence, usually under one of the many trees in the area. Though the sort of company changed depending on his mood, with her being rather flexible and going along with his demands, he was beginning to find that he just wanted her around, even for little things like resting or reading. Though that voice, that glorious voice and talent of hers that gave him the only dreamless sleep he'd had in over a dozen years...
But the pink haired rebel was why he was under a tree yet again, waiting for her to show up. Of course the forest wasn't without its own dangers, as he'd encountered rangers practically two of the last three times he'd been by, and so as he lay there, amethyst eyes closed, he made sure his hand was curled around his gun on his lap and that Ama was laying next to him, on watch. He would not be surprised, not while waiting for Evelyn. Though what he wouldn't give for a nap. A real one, the sort only Evelyn could give him.

Isaac's home was in the forest. He had been comfortable there since that terrible night in his childhood when his home burnt down around him, leaving him more alone in the world than he had ever been. His own destructive nature being the cause of his own self-loathing. He had used his rage and thrown himself into the life and study of a ranger. He had never been particularly good at following rules, that was for sure, and he often acted on instinct but at the end of the day it was his urge for justice that kept him going, that kept him taking on the rebels as if they were ants.
Ants that he wanted to pull a hose on and drown.
There was one particular rebel that Isaac had come to find a rather incessant dislike for. A silver-haired man who drew his gun quicker than Isaac drew his fists - and that could be pretty damned fast on some occassions. He had one encounter -okay, he couldn't remember it for certain, but the guy had confirmed it- where he had been shot, and another that had nearly ended in the same manner. Isaac was sure that this man was almost always in the forest, and when he wasn't being told he was disobeying protocol by Rune, or caught up in his own passion with Tyler he was searching for him. Today was one of those days. He had asked Rune to come along with him, a feeling in his gut telling him that back up might not be a bad idea, and had headed off into the woods.
Hand on his taser, he made his way through the paths he knew so well, hearing the hiss of snake pokemon here and there, and the coos and caws of many birds. He glanced sidelong back to check on Rune, making certain that she was still nearby as a glint of sunshine on hair caught his eye in the other direction. Holding out his hand to tell her to stop, Isaac turned his gaze onto Aidan, a low growl forming in his throat.
He had the audacity to just sit in Isaac's forest like he wasn't a threat! As always, Isaac's rash nature began to kick in and he stopped thinking entirely, strolling up pointedly and snarling at the silver-haired man. "I thought I told you to get out of my forest." It was more of a growl than a sentence, hand flying once more to his belt, where both his taser and his pokeballs lay. The guy had an Arcanine, and Isaac's dislike for fire kept him alert, worried that he might pull the same moves as the previous time.
Or, you know, shoot him.

Having grown up in a city, however small of a city it may have been, she was used to noise, to hustle and bustle, to seeing people constantly moving and trying to be certain places on time. Being from Canalave, that tended to be a boat more often than not, most visitors to the city being from out of region, and Rune had to admit, it was odd not being able to hear the ships horns or to smell the sea air every morning when she woke up. Odd, but not entirely bad. While the quiet nature of the forest put her on edge sometimes, just for being so different from what she'd grown up with, it was relaxing more often than not.
She liked the quiet, it had grown on her quickly, as had the forest and the people that resided in it, specifically a certain blond haired ranger, one who she was following through the forest on their usual patrol route. Patrol was easy; with so little going on in the forest, she was able to think and still not miss anything. Anything out of the ordinary, be it a sound or sight, was easily spotted, easily picked out from the browns and greens and soft noises of the forest, and so she was left partly to her thoughts, most of which centered on the man in front of her.
He was agitated today, more so than usual, even asking her to come along with him, which he rarely did. It wasn't often that they patroled together, usually taking opposite sides of the forest and working through, so there had ot be something that had put him on edge. He'd been in the forest far longer than she had, and so she trusted his judgement, only vaguely surprised when he suddenly left the path, hand reaching for his taser as he neared the silver haired man who was sitting so nonchalantly under a tree.
Well, that certianly explained quite a bit. Rune had heard that it was a man of similar description that had shot him, that said man continued to frequent their forest. She'd never had the misfortune of running into him, though she knew Isaac had, and she was only a little surprised at how angry Isaac got so quickly. He did get shot by this man, she supposed, but really, couldn't he follow protocol just this once?
She was right behind him in a moment, her lacrosse stick in her hands, her Rio's Pokeball sitting in the netting, ready to be released. "Isaac. Repeat offender or not, we have a code of conduct ot uphold." Red eyes looked to Aidan then, the girl frowning, hands tightening on the stick. If he was as dangerous as Isaac would have her believe... "And you, sir, must listen to him. You have been asked to leave, so do so before we arrest you for more than assaulting an officer."

Time not wasted, if you asked her, because there was always something quite rewarding waiting for the young woman when she finally made it to her destination.
Evelyn had never really been a forest person before she'd joined the rebels. Sure, like anyone she had gone on picnics and outings through the woods but she had grown up at the foot of Mt. Chimney, underneath the beautiful volcano full of the fire pokemon she knew and loved so well. Forests were unusual, she had to keep Blush and Blast in check, and Blaze was often the one who reminded them to dull their flames. The Arcanine would simply growl and they'd remember their place, often forgetting how easily wood and leaves catch alight.
What brought her to the forest more often than ever was the same thing that brought most people anywhere. Company. Evelyn was a social person by nature, her childhood had been surrounded by friends of both genders, and she had grown up with people. When she had joined the rebels, a lot of that had changed. Her time was spent on Blaze's back searching desperately for Damion so that she could exact her revenge upon him for breaking her heart.
And then her revenge was done, she had cursed him and been watched, then fallen back into a strange funk. She couldn't go back to Lavaridge then, not with that on her brain, and she couldn't simply follow Damion around just to twitch his mildly cursed burn whenever she felt like it. Which was where the silver-haired watcher of her crimes came in. He had observed the day she'd blown up, had growled at her for trying to bring back her old friend, and then he'd had his way with her against a tree.
Seduction was not something Evelyn was naive to. It had been her downfall with Damion, to get too attached too quickly, but Aidan had started off as something passionate and lusty. It had started out as nothing, and far more quickly than she'd hoped, turned into something far more deep-seated. Feelings she hadn't expected - jealousy, possession, even love. She was his, even if from the start there had been no talk of belonging. He'd spoiled her for other men, whispering possessively in her ear all those times in all those various spots around Eterna. She was his, and she had no objections to it.
It was for the silver-haired rebel that she moved through the forest, sure that Aidan was waiting for her. For her to sit beside him and lull him to sleep, or to read together, or press her hard against the tree trunk as had happened so very many times before.
Not that she minded.
Blaze by her side, she and the Arcanine both paused as the sounds of voices pierced through the air. She glanced down to see Ama and Aidan, her lover's hand already on his gun - really, if it wasn't on his gun she would have been more surprised- and then back up to the two rangers who just wouldn't leave well enough alone. So much for being pressed up against a tree for now, she supposed. Moving through the trees as silently as an Arcanine and his trainer could, she pushed herself out not far from Aidan's spot. "Two against one isn't very fair now, is it?" She sighed, glancing sidelong at her lover.
"Since when is there a law against sitting in a forest? You two are ridiculous. People are allowed to exist." As always, Evie focused on the pair as she rested a hand on the Arcanine's back, both sets of eyes watching the rangers closely.
