The Pokemon has stuck by his trainer's side through thick and thin and is one of the more powerful battlers on the team. He is a bit more serious than Ty and doesn't have the same weakness for women. Aside from the occasional work vs. play spat, the pair truly do get along well. When one of Ty's Pokemon was stolen he changed his occupation from a trainer to a Ranger. The Pokemon seems to enjoy the career change significantly, and has fun blasting rebels when given the chance. Though he doesn't approve of Ty's dabbling in the show business industry like some of his teammates.

Shadow was causing trouble throughout Castelia when Tyler was called to investigate. Because of his ability to creat illusions he was extremely difficult to find, but working to catch him allowed Ty to see how useful and clever the Pokemon was. When he found Shadow he captured him and decided to make him a permanent addition to his team. Since then Shadow has proven his worth on the team, helping to trick Rebels and victims alike. The Pokemon has a mischievous streak which means that he occasionally pranks Ty and his teammates. Despite this he is very obedient respecting Ty as his master without question.

MAYA NAME: maya SPECIES: ninetales GENDER: female EGG GROUP: field group MOVES: inferno dark pulse extrasensory flame burst quick attack disable safe guard captivate THE POKEMON: Maya is the lovely lady of Tyler's team. Though she doesn't like getting dirty or fighting all that much she will gladly step in if Ty needs her help. This lovely Pokemon is normally quite serious, and gets along with Jack and Max much better than she gets along with the other three. She respects Tyler very much and believes him to be somewhat charming, which is the only reason she allowed him to capture her. Maya fits in very well with her trainer's cause. Her serious personality allows her to blend in with either the Rebels or the Rangers without much of a problem. Though this Pokemon is mostly about control she has a temper to match her type, when Maya gets mad she is quite a force to be reckoned with.

Though Max isn't one of the stronger Pokemon on Tyler's team he is hardworking and even has a bit of a sense of humor on the side. His personality allows him to mesh well with every Pokemon on the team. Max was Tyler's second Pokemon he found him in the wild and captured him simply for his adoration of dog-like Pokemon. Despite his mediocre reason for capturing Max the canine Pokemon has served Tyler's cause quite well and is almost fearless in helping his master out in any way possible.

As it turns out the Flareon hadn't been stolen she'd simply run away to have two eggs. When Tyler brought them back to the owner she refused the two eggs under the assumption that they weren't purebred. Tyler was disgusted by the woman and felt bad for the eggs and took them under his wing. With a bit of care the two eggs hatched into two small Eevees, fitting in perfectly with his team. Truman is the living incarnation of the energizer bunny. This little guy runs circles around opponents, often using exhaustion to win fights. The Jolteon adores people, especially Tyler, and will take any chance he gets to make new 'friends'. He occasionally annoys Ty because he will befriend anyone no matter their alliance.

Originally Maya was very excited to have her, but as she grew older it quickly became apparent that she wouldn't be a lady like Maya. Instead Dewey grew into a bubbly outgoing creature like her brother. She isn't quite as outgoing as Truman, instead she takes a bit more time to consider who she befriends. She can hit hard, but her power doesn't compare to some of her older teammates. Dewey and Truman both adore Tyler, because they know that he saved them from being captured in the wild by an incompetent trainer. Aside from Jack these two are Tyler's most loyal Pokemon, and would do anything they could to keep him safe.
