So filled with beats and sounds that were unrivaled by any other kind of music. The trumpets blared while rapid Spanish was fired by tenors, baritones, no one cared what kind of voice they had. The maracas were keeping a steady rhythm and the drums were being pounded, but not so hard that it drowned out the rest of the instruments. The piano was being played away, introducing the colorful melody of the actual singing. Javier's eyes were closed, but he could imagine the entire scene laid out before him. He didn't have to imagine each individual musician; they all had the same purpose. He could see a set of big drums in the back that was attended by someone who was feeling the music, only pressing the drums when he was really needed. The piano was back there with him, attended by a man who was so focused that he was hunched over the piano, focused on feeling the music. The maracas were being held by someone who moved back and forth, dancing while they shook their instruments. The trumpets were in the spotlight, wailing whenever the singer held a long note. The singer was sweating from singing so intensely, and the back up singers were in a row to the side, dancing and singing and echoing the chorus.
Dios Mio! Javier opened his eyes, still imagining the scene, pretending to dance around the stage, dancing with a faceless woman who knew that he was to be leading and knew that he would take care of her if she faltered. But was there ever actually a faltered step in the salsa? It was more of a guideline, or that's how Javier saw it. He was taught, as a young child, how to do the salsa, tango, everything. But he improvised so much and his family didn't dissuade him. He moved to his own beat and he'd been doing so ever since. His heart pounded as he swerved to the side, dipping his invisible partner down and slowly bringing her up. He was currently rolling around the room - literally. His dance partner was a cheap mannequin wearing a saucy red dress and lacking in legs because it was a pole connecting her torso to a set of wheels at the bottom that Javier was beginning to wear out. He dipped the mannequin again and began dancing around the room in wide steps, bringing her closer to the mirror, which he barely glanced at.
Why look at a mirror, why you're not memorizing something? Salsa was about taking suggested movements and adding your own pizzazz to them. Javier was moving around the room until the music ended, and even a few seconds after that. He'd been playing the same CD over and over again, dancing around the room. Javier could never get tired of dancing, not for as long as he lived. He's memorized each of the songs and was coming up with different combinations for each of them, making up new routines on the spot. He'd been in the practice space for hours, since five that morning. He had scheduled a free dance lesson to anyone who wanted it for eleven A.M. and it was currently twenty minutes until that time. He probably needed to take a break and go see if he was actually going to have any students today. He went over to the corner where he had laid his bag and his stereo, pulling out his small hand towel to wipe at his sweaty face. He wore a t-shirt and a pair of dress pants that he could move around in. Dropping the towel, he stepped out into the hallway, checking the sign that he'd put out there. "SALSA LESSONS TODAY. 11 A.M. ROOM 472. BEGINNERS WELCOME." He'd passed out many flyers and posted them around Mauville the past week, hoping to hook people into wanting to continue his dance lessons after their free lesson. His Lilligant sat outside next to the door, twirling in a circle and rocking back and forth to the mini stereo he'd placed out there next to her.
He smiled brightly down at her when she turned to look at him. "Keep up the good work, querida" He told Marigold, propping the door open as he went back inside to go turn on the fan in the corner, which would begin to circulate some air so that he could cool down before the actual lessons began. He picked up his bottle of water and sipped at it a few times, leaning back against the full-wall mirror and waiting patiently for his first student. "Wilson, no! Wait, get back here! Wilson!" Mauville was somewhere Aren had come only a few sparse times. Most of her life had been spent in the relatively secluded town of Lavaridge, barefoot and free in the heat and grass, the hot sand and the therapeutic hot springs. Leaping from the warm stepping stones and playing with her mother's vulpix, while her dear mama soaked in the hot springs and gossiped with the other women. Most people would think her an uneducated, small-town lass wandering freely around a city too big for her, with it's bike shop and casino. And really, that was what she was. She had only been her a handful of times, but she felt more confident now; with her team of pokemon, and the sun shining above to ward off any dangerous ghost types, she had been pleased enough to find herself here. Up until the moment where Wilson had stolen a shiny necklace from the mart. It hadn't been his fault, not really. They had been shopping, buying the necessities- potions, antidotes, things such as that- when a man had stopped them and asked for a picture of the buizel. Something about how lustrous the water type's fur was, or something. Aren had been unsure about it, and Wilson had looked irritated enough with the pushiness of the photographer, but before an answer could be given, he had started snapping photos. Bright lights flashed, and even Aren had been blinded. Wilson, on the other hand, had been so startled by the suddenly flashing beams that he had shrilled, run blindly over the counter top, knocked over three small display boxes, and tangled himself in a cluster of necklaces on display. So really, it was more like a variety of necklaces that he had inadvertently stolen. Now he was running on all fours down the street, and Aren was struggling to keep up.
As she ran along, long jacket sleeves flapping in the wind, and her breaths coming in short, ragged gasps- she was not meant for this sort of brisk exercise!- she considered bringing one of her other pokemon out to help catch the runaway. But, when she truly gave it some thought, it would not have been wise. The sidewalks were packed with people, and there were cars on the road. Gladiolus and Vera might accidentally hurt someone, or even run out into the road and find themselves hurt, instead. Pathos was hardly an option; while she did not find him overly frightening, others would probably flee at the sight of a battered, battle-scarred Druddigon running pell-mell down the sidewalk after a terrified buizel, with a girl running hot on it's heels. No, that would not do.
Aren was just beginning to slow and consider waiting for Wilson to calm down himself when he veered, quite suddenly, and shot into what looked like some sort of studio. There was a Lilligant outside, and a man standing nearby, and there was probably some sort of sign, but Aren was panicking and hardly noticed what it said. She skidded to the side, legs nearly flying out from under her, and reached down with one long arm to catch her balance. She all but leapt into the studio. "Wilson!" she cried out. The buizel, panting with his little pink tongue hanging out, slowed and then stopped. His pupils dilated, and he blinked rapidly, then looked around, as if confused. "Bwii? Buuu-wii?" he turned his head, and then yelped.
Aren had not been able to stop as suddenly as her pokemon. She gasped as she tried to slow, but the floor, meant for dancing, was a little bit more smooth than she was used to. In her flats, it was just moments before her feet slipped and caught together, and then she was falling. She skidded on her stomach, caught Wilson in one arm, and then smacked into the wall, finally stopping. She groaned, and then sighed heavily, as Wilson shifted in her arms. He had gotten out of this without injury, which was good, she thought silently. She lay there for a moment, silent, either thinking about what she should do now, or trying to decide if anything was broken. She sat up slowly, looking down at the little water type, who grinned sheepishly- and perhaps a bit cheekily- up at her. He offered her a pawful of slightly worse-for-the-wear, tangled up necklaces. She pressed her palm to her face.
"...Wilson."

He closed his eyes as he enjoyed the cold water and then he closed the bottle and leaned his back against the mirror. He took a short rest from the dancing, the music still wailing as he tilted his head from side to side. Marigold gave a surprised squeak when a Buizel darted past her, followed by a girl. Javi's eyes jerked to the door with worry when his Lilligant reacted and was surprised to see a pokemon barrel in with his trainer right behind him. New students...? Maybe Marigold was trying to warn him that he was in for a handful...?No wait, they didn't look like they were ready for dancing. THey also looked like they'd stumbled in, not come in on purpose. Well, waste not, want not. Javi took a deep breath and glanced at the doorway when Marigold peered in curiously, looking Javi over for injuries.
"It's alright, Marigold, you can come in." He smiled at the sweet Lilligant who lightly padded in, looking as if she were floating across the floor. She came to stand next to Javi, nervously reaching up to pat at the flower on her head, which was in full bloom. She nuzzled against his leg and he smiled warmly, reaching down to pet her gently. She came up to about his waist and his hand carefully pet the flower on her head as he looked at his two new guests. Marigold watched them curiously, wondering if she should speak to the Buizel to see what had happened. Javi interrupted her thoughts. "Are you alright?" He asked concernedly, slowly approaching the new girl at an angle, in hopes she wouldn't be startled when she saw him. He decided to ask a question, even though he knew the answer. "Are you here for a dance lesson? My name is Javier and this is Marigold and we're offering salsa lessons if you're interested, querida." He smiled warmly.
Javier was always friendly with people he didn't know. His belief was that his God brought people to him for a reason. he ran into people for a reason. he was meant to be polite to them and get to know them because that's what he was taught. Nothing is a coincidence. He bent down and looked at her, offering a hand. "I can help you up, if you'd like, querida?" He asked hesitantly. Marigold peered over his shoulder and then quietly approached the Buizel, smiling and offering her leaf-hand to him as she smiled and hummed softly to herself.
