Okay maybe not that far back, since he's only a young adult himself. For his ninth birthday, Theo received an egg from him grandparents. Being the generic action-obsessed little boy he was, Theo had expected it to hatch into "something badass, like charizard or a gyrados!" (what he didn't realize was that neither of those would be hatching from eggs. Ever. Instead, he got a smoochum. Initially a bit upset, Theo eventually got over it and took to trying to bond with his new pokemon. It was a little while before they finally began to tolerate each other, but they've been very close ever since. Brandi's stubborn attitude and and spoilt nature are almost reminiscent of Theo himself. What differs, though, is her hyperactivity, vanity, and tendancy to throw tantrums. The two piss each other off to high hell, but at the end of the day, they really do love and care for each other.
