He discovered an abandoned Trapinch, a diminutive and deserted creature, stuck in the ashes dotting Fallarbor Town. At the time, he hadn’t the reason to figure why the odd creature was so far astray its desert habitat; instead, little Rogerson scooped up his new experiment and hid him at home, desiring his father to know nothing of his discovery. There, confined in Rogerson’s closet, a damp and dark jail, Fui grew as despicable as his master. The tiny Trapinch became pallid, destitute of its proper habitat. Rogerson transgressed his childhood (what childhood had he, anyway?), growing coinciding rough with the creature. Experiments took place with Trapinch as the subject, anger was released on Trapinch as the bruised subject. When Rogerson’s father was declared missing, Rogerson finally let his frail companion into open air for once. The evolved Trapinch, now a struggling Vibrava, failed to show contempt for its master out of pure fatigue; Rogerson took this as obedient submissiveness, and overworked his Vibrava until it forcefully evolved into an equally vengeful Flygon. Fui, named so in little Rogerson’s mediocre attempt to say “free”, clearly remains a misnomer. The abused victim continued to obey Rogerson out of pure dependence. Austere, repressed and depressed, Fui seemed to Rogerson his personal, mindless drudge. Rogerson wasn’t entirely cruel to him, however. In his growing development of right and wrong (developed far too late), Rogerson was quick to provide for Fui, but in the respect that he saw Fui as incapable of surviving himself. Matters showed no signs of amelioration, and Bui’s extension of the team provided nothing but dry rivalry. To this current day, Fui fights Bui for full attention of his master. Fui despises his predicament, but fails to react to it due to his lifelong dependence. Both Bui and Fui are far overshadowed by Oui.

OUI NAME: Oui SPECIES: Milotic GENDER: Female EGG GROUP: dragon, water MOVES: surf recover safeguard raindance dive icebeam THE POKEMON: Yes, she swore to love him evermore. Oui, prim, prudent, and patient, embodies what very well may be the soul of the deceased mother Rogerson never knew. Whether or not she is the quintessence of the unfortunate Mrs. Cummings or not, Oui began molding Rogerson into a proper gentleman from the very day she met him. Her attempts to embed kindness into his actions have failed, as well as her attempts to socialize Rogerson with boys of his age. However, Oui has notably affected civil contemplation in Rogerson, as well as an inkling of patience. If anything, Rogerson humbles himself before her. Problems before her melt away in her calming presence, feuds between Fui and Bui fade before her might. Rogerson met Oui on his own sepulchral waiting ground. It was a tempestuous evening on Hoenn’s infamous Route 114, with the sky pouring down in blatant punishment for Rogerson’s failure. Thunder struck and wind stormed through the abandoned route, compelling all Pokemon to seek shelter in the warm sanctuaries far away from the disastrous scene. Fui and Bui’s pokeballs sat far away from the ledge Rogerson quickly approached; on that day, he didn’t feel like taking anyone’s life but his. The impenetrable, rapid waters of Route 114 surged beneath the ledge, threatening to annihilate anything unfortunate enough to get caught in its waters. However, Rogerson wasn’t unfortunate. He was as damned as he was driven. When he made the jump into the water, he felt nothing, and all was as planned. Until he woke up, that is. Rogerson awoke to find himself estranged in some sacred cavern underneath Route 114. Cuddled beside him, a mighty Milotic laid its giant head atop his wet hair. Agony and apathy quelled before the motherly being. Her name symbolized a needed affirmation of Rogerson’s life.

BUI NAME: Bui SPECIES: Haxorus GENDER: male EGG GROUP: monster, dragon MOVES: dragon claw dragon dance swords dance dragon pulse strength THE POKEMON: Upon examining polluted mountaintops, young Rogerson happened upon a hurt Axew cradling away in an empty nest, all alone. An odd, chivalrous side of him opened up to the Axew; after the baby Pokemon was carefully nursed and examined for signs of radioactive reaction, Rogerson caught him and treated him equal to Fui. However, a most unfortunate idea had been embedded in the little Axew: because his new master had shown so much care to him, he must obviously have loved him. Under this wistful misjudgment, Axew grew obsessed with capturing Rogerson’s attention, to the point he grew stronger to evolve. To evolve for him. By the time Axew emerged as an aggressive Fraxure, he had no sense of caring for anyone but Rogerson. The only factor keeping Fraxure from destroying his dragon brother was his modicum of baby Pokemon strength. This motivated Fraxure to train. By the time he evolved into a horrific Haxorus, any sense of humaneness had been lost. A deep, dedicated, savage love devoted to Rogerson marked Haxorus’s life. Thus summarizes the life of Bui, the bully. Cruelty, anger, and expression characterized by Bui remind Rogerson of his own father far too much. However, a better side of Rogerson shines through as he slowly attempts to rectify, with Oui’s help, the onerous characteristics of Bui. This enrages Bui; he fought his whole life for his master’s attention, and now that he has it, the master simply wishes him different. However, similar to Fui, Bui knows naught but to excel for his master’s approval. Thus, Bui obeys any command Rogerson deals to him, as his second mindless slave.

With his ravenous appetite for metal as well as his undoubtable strength as a mere Aron, Rogerson fell in love with the Pokemon. Fantasies of tearing down whole cities yielding to the environment clouded his mind, and with this Rogerson nurtured Jui. He grew steady and fair, emerging as a quiet Lairon, and eventually as a matured and reserved Aggron. Extremely intelligent, Jui quickly perceived the poor situation of the fellow dragon brothers, Bui and Fui, and was smart enough to ostracize himself from the group. He bears little relation to Oui as a wise acquaintance, occasionally offering advice on how to rectify Rogerson. Otherwise, Jui remains a respectable and quiet individual, obeying not out of obedience but out of acquiescence. Rogerson notices this equality and desires no dictorial control over Jui; the boy is satisfied enough having him as a partner.
