HEY FW!
This month we are celebrating one year of Far and Wide, that's right, we are ONE YEAR OLD! One year for any site is an accomplishment, so we have to, of course, thank our members first of all, as you're the ones who keep us going! Without you, we'd be a hollow shell! There are lots of things going on at our beloved site right now in celebration, so let's go over them!
First of all, many thanks to Kira for fiddling with the skin and banner to give us a new, fresh start for the FW year, it looks great and it's a nice change to have something a bit darker. <3 Everyone say thank you if you see her.
Next up, we have the alterations to the "Of the Month" system. We are going to bring the choice to you guys, the members. We will have a thread for nominations, where you can nominate your choice for member/character/ship with a reason. This will run for three weeks, until a week before the month changeover at which point we will have a sitewide poll! Sounds like fun, does it not? This way, everyone, not just the administrators get a say in who deserves to be awarded.
Third of the big changes we have won't affect most of you, however, will affect new members and those wishing to take up canon characters. Starting now, we are requesting a roleplay sample of at least three hundred words from new members, as well as those taking a canon. Canon characters must have their post IC, whereas new members may recycle posts from other sites. Proper grammar and spelling is required, as always, and the word limit will always apply.
We are running another sitewide event starting very soon which many trainers will be interested in. Mahogany's Gym is going to be up for takeover! One lucky trainer (canon or not!) will take over as the gym leader in that town. It will be held both in thread as a check in, and then cast as a vote to see who will be the one to take control of that particular town. Watch around for more news on this particular event!
We are sad to say that we have lost one of our wonderful administrators in Tea, and we will miss her very much. If anyone hears word from her, let her know we are still thinking of her, and that she is always welcome on our site.
To all of you who have stuck it out with us, we thank you very much for your dedication to far and Wide, and head on towards another year of fun, roleplay and family.
