Capture when he was ten, it took a while before the knife pokemon decided to trust him, often swiping away at him with her own blades, which does explain the scars that litter his body. Still a bit naive of the world, the pokemon can be trusting and rather needy when it comes to attention. And of course Atti has no choice but to shower the chick with love. He is also his main pokemon of transport, though rather slow since they normally have to stop for a while to let the chick rest.
