They raised her in a house full of culture, full of energy and life, encouraging her to do what she wanted to do with her life. So when she let them know that she wanted to be a trainer, they accepted her fully and proudly gave their daughter a Cubchoo. The little snotnose was a scaredy-cat, which made Irene want to give him away. He was afraid of everything and avoided confrontation. As Irene worked with him though, he became more and more comfortable with fighting, eventually wanting to stand up for himself. when he was a powerful Cubchoo and his trainer kept working with him, he finally evolved into the huge Beartic that he is now. He's loyal to Irene and loves to wrestle with her, though he always goes easy on her. Ares is so aptly named because of his strength in battle and how powerful he is. He's very proud of himself and never backs down from a challenge.

HADES NAME: hades SPECIES: ursaring GENDER: male EGG GROUP: field MOVES: slash faint attack covet scratch fury swipes lick THE POKEMON: When Irene first set out from Lavaridge, Ares was the only pokemon she had on her person. So when she came across a little Teddiursa, she was preparing to pass by it, when he lashed out a Slash attack on her when she wasn't looking. When she turned back around to see what had happened, she saw the adorable Teddiursa sitting there, looking innocent. Suspicious, she brought out Ares who growled at the Teddiursa. He responded in kind, startign a fierce battle between the two. When the Teddiursa was weak enough, she captured him and named him Hades, after his sneaky nature. After more training, he evolved into a Ursaring, whom she immediately fell in love with and began her quest to have an all-bear team. He's lumbering and just as affection-less as Ares. Wrestling between Irene and Hades usually end pretty evenly since he's only a couple inches taller than her. But he pretends he wins every single time.

PERSEPHONE NAME: persephone SPECIES: ursaring GENDER: female EGG GROUP: field MOVES: fake tears sweet scent scary face leer charm THE POKEMON: Persephone is so aptly named because of the way that Irene came to be in possession of such a quiet and sweet Ursaring. When out wrestling with Ares and Hades, Irene took a break and stretched herself out, looking for a place to use the bathroom quickly. She spotted a snoozing Ursaring's cave after wandering around for a bit and she began backing away until she was pretty against Hades, who had also spotted the sleeping Ursaring. Irene did her best to try to convince Hades to back off, but he was already determined to make her his. He woke her up roughly and she growled at him, engaging in a fight that ended with her taking him down, but weakened. Irene captured the Ursaring and named her Persephone, because she stays with the team, only because she's the only one with any power over Hades. The two Ursaring are often used in Double Battles, Persephone going for the mental attacks and Hades actually using his ruthless physical attacks.

DIONYSUS NAME: dionysus SPECIES: spinda GENDER: male EGG GROUP: field and human-like MOVES: dizzy punch hypnosis uproar copycat psybeam psych up teeter dance sucker punch THE POKEMON: Even as Irene continues to raise her all-bear team, she looks for different pokemon to add to the team. On a short visit back to Lavaridge, she decided to go visit the quiet Fallarbor Town to get a flute made. When she encountered a dizzy looking Spinda and saw that it ate just as much as her bears did, she decided to make an exception and add him to the team. After a surprisingly difficult battle between the Spinda and Ares, she captured him. He gets dizzy very often and usually can't even walk in a straight line. So, laughingly, she gave him the name of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine. He remains as the humor of her group, very adorable and comic relief-like.
