When he landed in Kanto, a rebel without a cause, he discovered a fisherman who he got close to, trying to decide what to do with his new life while coexisting with pokemon. it didn't take long for Pierce to realize that he was very much an appearance person and contests had much more meaning and excitement than a pokemon battle. He felt no need to leap into an arena and beat the snot out of other pokemon. So, after deciding he would be a coordinator, his fisherman friend gifted him with a Kingler, from his water pokemon ranch. The Kingler, which Pierce named Daith, after the piercing, likes clamping onto things and Pierce uses him in the parlor sometimes, getting his practice in for piercing people. He usually handles the bigger piercings, not the ears because of the difficulty of his large claw. Daith is energetic about being part of Pierce's parlor and likes to greet people with a bubbly mouth and a huge grin.

But once he did, he realized that Daith wouldn't be enough. He set out for another pokemon that could also compete in contests and have the coolness factor going, since Daith has his strength going for him. So when Pierce came across a Scyther slicing through the woods, taking down everything in her path, he knew that she would be the perfect addition. She was graceful and elegant, but still had a feeling of baddassery that Pierce knew he could add her to the team and make her the cool factor of his team. After following her for a few days and trying to track her down, Pierce finally captured her and evolved her into a badass Scizor who takes play from no one and shows excitement for nothing. She's very business-like and that's why he likes her so much. She stands by in the parlor, keeping track of the people who come in and the people who leave, and basically functions as security.

It turned out, after extensive study of the pokemon, she was a starving pokemon and her mushroom had taken over, in the name of survival. Figuring the pokemon wanted some sort of guidance in his life, Pierce set out to capture the Parasect, intent on saving the life of the starving pokemon. Slowly but surely, the Parasect, whom he named Madonna, after the corresponding piercing, began to open up to him and he accepted her into the team, usually spending time curled up with her in bed as he looks up new piercing methods. She's very good at putting clients to sleep if they aren't able to handle the pain from their tattoos or piercings. She's very affectionate toward Pierce, mostly for saving her.

ROOK NAME: rook SPECIES: beedrill GENDER: male EGG GROUP: bug MOVES: fury attack twineedle rage focus energy agility assurance THE POKEMON: When Pierce came across a powerful Beedrill protecting his forest from any outsiders, he decided that he could most definitely handle the power of the pokemon. But, after heavy thought, he also realized that this pokemon could help him in his decision to open up a tattoo-piercing parlor. With the help of Madonna, he captured the Beedrill and took him to the pokemon center for a health inspection. Apparently, the Beedrill had been surgically altered to remove all poison from the pokemon, probably from a previous trainer, one who had a lot of money to pay for such an expensive surgery. The Beedrill, he found out, must have taken off when he realized that he'd been altered in such a way, becoming overly protectively of his forest that contained his pack, hoping the same thing wouldn't happen to his family. Pierce is very leniant about Rook being in the shop, since he's usually off visiting his family, but he comes back every day. He somtimes performs the tattoos on people who ask for a more unique method and Rook is very very precise with his work.

MEDUSA NAME: medusa SPECIES: smeargle GENDER: female EGG GROUP: field MOVES: power whip softboiled zen headbutt sacred fire hydrocannon THE POKEMON: Medusa is the absolute best contest pokemon on his team, unbenknowst to his other pokemon because they usually don't watch his other contests. Medusa is a born and bred contest champion. He bough her off a ragged-looking breeder, who expressed the pokemon's need for high attention, since she was very demanding and always needed to be in the center of attention. Pierce accepted her heartily, after paying a very very large amount of money for her, only to find out she was just as temperamental as the breeder said. When she's competing in contests, she's an absolute powerhouse, but when she's in the parlor, she's nothing but a spoiled brat. Once Pierce found a job for her to do, she became much more subdued. She stands as the resident artist, often helping to map out the exact spot of the tattoo and guiding Rook while she carefully applies the ink.

AURICLE NAME: auricle SPECIES: blissey GENDER: female EGG GROUP: fairy MOVES: sing healing wish tail whip bestow egg bomb growl THE POKEMON: As Pierce began to go through the process of buying a building and building up his own tattoo/piercing parlor, it occurred to him that he probably needed someone by his side with a motherly touch, since he didn't have any plans on getting married anytime soon. So, he camped out for days in the Safari Zone, unbeknownst to the workers there. After patiently waiting for days and days on end, he finally found a Chansey, who had snuck out in the wee hours of the morning, looking for food. When Pierce approached for a battle, she ran off again and he was forced to chase her down. He didn't find her again and was forced to camp out again. Soon he ran out of food and he needed to return to the entrance to gather more. But he didn't have the energy to. Tensions began to run high and he started snapping at his pokemon, telling them what to do. But then, out of nowhere, the Chansey appeared and gave him an egg. Hungry and grateful, he bit into it and became terribly pleasant, to a point where his pokemon were almost disgusted with him. The Chansey joined him and took great care in nursing him and his pokemon back to health. She also became more and more attached to them and slowly decided that she would stay with them. When Pierce named her Auricle and made it official, she finally evolved into the adorable Blissey that she is now. She doesn't mind participating in cute contests but her real passion is taking care of the people in pain at the parlor.
