- BOSSY
Jack gets what he wants, one way or another, and what he wants is usually capital. He's not afraid to order around allies or enemies when persuasion won't work.

- UNTRUSTWORTHY
Jack is always out for a bigger slice of the pie, whether he has to take it from friends or enemies. He wouldn't be above putting a friend in a bad spot to get a little extra coin.
- MYSOGINISTIC
Jack hates the dames. He's already been around the block and been played, and he has no patience for sass from women. This makes working with him sometimes difficult.
- RELAXED
He has a taste for jazz and swing, and he can often be a regular type of guy, enjoying the finer things he's acquired.

- Thunder Wave
- Night Slash
- Sucker Punch
- Taunt
- Snatch
- Assist
THE POKEMON:
Purrloin was Jack's first pokemon. His family bought him the Pokemon, which was imported from the Unova region. He named him Ace, for being his first partner. Though Jack never challenged the league with Ace, they spent much time together in Saffron until his family's business collapsed, with his parents dying soon after in an accident. As Jack built back up his estate, Liepard was there for him. Jack rarely goes anywhere without Ace at his side, and indeed, the man in white and his cat are well known around Saffron. | SPADENAME: Spade SPECIES: Sneasel GENDER: Male EGG GROUP: Ground MOVES:- Punishment
- Pursuit
- Ice Shard
- Beat Up
- Icy Wind
- Hone Claws
THE POKEMON:
Caught in the Sevii Islands while doing business with a market stall on Two Island. He's small and quick, and very helpful for infiltration. He's a bit spoiled, however, like most of Jack's Pokemon, and most commonly enjoys Pokemon Eggs. He commonly employs Beat Up in a direct fight to make up for his own middling strength. | CLUBNAME: Club SPECIES: Vileplume GENDER: male EGG GROUP: Grass MOVES:- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Sweet Scent
- Poisonpowder
- Aromatherapy
- Venoshock
- Moonlight
THE POKEMON:
Club is Jack's only non-Dark Pokemon, and remains with him as part of his public appearance. However, despite its looks, the Vileplume has a very sadistic nature, and is just as invested in Jack's dangerous business as Jack is himself. It's possible that he was once a Shadow Pokemon. However, he is Jack's least used Pokemon for battle. | DIAMONDNAME: Diamond SPECIES: Sableye GENDER: Male EGG GROUP: Human-like MOVES:- Foul Play
- Detect
- Shadow Sneak
- Power Gem
- Confuse Ray
- Night Shade
- Recover
THE POKEMON:
Diamond was bought, this tiem by Jack himself. Jack found the Pokemon's abilities very interesting, along with its completely lack of elemental weaknesses. Diamond often hides in Jack's shadow during dangerous outings, though rarely in public, to avoid being detected. Diamond MO is often to get things done without ever being seen, and he's quite good at doing it. | JOKERNAME: Joker SPECIES: Zoroark GENDER: Male EGG GROUP: Ground MOVES:- Dark Pulse
- Sucker Punch
- Counter
- Foul Play
- U-Turn
- Embargo
THE POKEMON:
Jack's ultimate wild card, one of his most invaluable tools. Joker can appear to fulfill the roles of most of his Pokemon, while at the same time catching most attackers completely off guard. He has never released this Pokemon in public without an illusion. Joker is very wild and delights in confusing tactics, amkign him difficult to beat in a fair fight. | KINGNAME: King SPECIES: Honchkrow GENDER: Male EGG GROUP: Flying MOVES:- Mean Look
- Taunt
- Assurance
- Night Shade
- Fly
- Perish Song
- Mirror Move
THE POKEMON:
Caught just after Jack joined the Rebel Force. He has a very regal presence, and makes up the final Pokemon in Jack's 'deck'. King is very adamant and demands plenty of respect, even from Jack. His combination of Mean Look and Perish Song is tried and true, and with Fly, it's difficult for grounded opponents to defeat him before the song ends. Unlike some of his species, however, King never utters a word. | |

Locke reached into his jacket, producing a second Poké Ball. This was it--the reason he had come back to this place, laden with memories that he had long since shut away. This was the new beginning--a plan of bigger scale and scope then Hearthome. A roulette of infinite possibilities. Though he had yet to think of it, it was a feeling he knew as surely as the rhythm of his heart. Locke released the Empoleon out onto the ice, where it was familiar, looking haughtily at Locke.
"Don't you go starting something, Jekyll. I need you to dive down there and retrieve that silver box," said Locke, pointing at the sparkling metal under the ice. Yawning, he nodded and bent downward. With a mighty crash of his steel beak against the ice, it shattered, small chunks floating on the surface. He slipped through, submerged under the icy water, and spiraled downward, cutting a path in the water with the speed of a torpedo. After a few moments of tugging and pulling, the Empoleon came through, somersaulting into upward position. The Aqua Jet blasted him back through the water, and out the opening he had made, and he landed outside the ice, sliding a bit before skidding to a halt and dropping the familiar puzzle box.
As though disbelieving, Locke picked up the still shining contained and took it, making his way back to the boulder where he had sat before. He laid it in his lap, turning it over in his hands with care. Finally, he looked over the bottom, and with some difficulty, made a rough translation of the riddle on the bottom, both from processing and memory.
First light comes from the first life touches heaven and blesses earth
Birth by fire blesses three counted separate but equally
Dawn is mirrored in the dark three by seven shown reflected.
As the day wore on, Locke sat among the ice, attempting to decipher the riddle. The time to attempt the puzzle was easy enough. Dawn mirrored...three by seven reversed... was 6:12 P.M. Unfortunately, he was no closer to solving the riddle itself. Additionally, he had no idea what even went in the frontal slot, and if it would affect his being able to open it. He had figured out the second part easily enough--Ho-oh, Suicune, Entei and Raikou, who had buttons with crude etchings placed on the right side of the puzzle box. The beginning part, however was a little trickier. The 'first life'...that could be Mew, which would make the 'first light' Arceus. As far as 'earth' went, his only guess was the golem Regigigas. But what could 'heaven' be, if Arceus was 'the first light'? Locke turned the box on its side, examining the buttons again Some of them, he knew, were dummy buttons, not meant to be pressed. Articuno, and Manaphy, for example. There was, however, another, one that he was none too familiar with. A creature with great wings and a tail of flame. It would have reminded him vaguely of Charizard if it had not been for the flowing mane atop its head....perhaps, by process of elimination, that could be the right answer.
Of course, that still left the issue of the frontal slot, and he had no new ideas. A ring of gold surrounded the trim of the slot, with eerily familiar etchings inscribed on it...
Then, it came to him, as though he had been struck by inspiration. From his ceremonial jacket he produced the golden, ancient watch--Barbara's final gift. With shaking fingers, he slowly matched it to the front of the box...and managed to slot it in. With a satisfying click! it moved smoothly into place. This was it...the answer had been with him all along, and he had never known it.
All that remained was to wait for the right time.
