While not the strongest Pokemon out there, she's full of courage, even going up against Green's gym Pokemon on occasion. Chuchu is in a very loving relationship with Red's Pika, and had an egg that hatched into Gold's Pichu. She tends to stay out of her Pokeball.

RATCHAN NAME: Ratchan SPECIES: Raticate GENDER: Male EGG GROUP: egg group MOVES: Hyper Fang Super Fang Crunch Focus Energy Scary Face Screech Reversal Sucker Punch THE POKEMON: Ratchan was Yellow's first Pokemon, one of the two she actually caught in battle, though under Red's specific instructions. While he was her main battler for a while, Omsuke and Golosuke have overtaken him, leaving Ratchan to battle only when his sharp teeth or a third or fourth battler are needed. Defies most Raticate stereotypes by being able to look adorable.

It then followed her out to her training with Green, and he had to instruct her on how to catch it after she spent an entire day not hurting it in battle. The butterfly rarely joins combat and is instead Yellow's wings and string maker, whether she needs fishing line, a cast, or a boat.

Not used very often in battle, Dodosuke tends to only come out when Yellow needs quick land transportation, although his wind attacks help her battle without harming the opponent.

At first the fossil Pokemon refused to listen to her, going so far as to run away as soon as it was out, but it has since become a valuable member to the team and one of Yellow's most used battlers, along with Golosuke and Chuchu.

A Graveler at the time, he refused to listen to her, rolling off as soon as he was out of his Pokeball. Eventually trusting his childish trainer, Golosuke evolved during the battle with Lance, even without having to be traded, something that mystified Blaine. He's the strongest defensively on Yellow's team and tends to stay back by her during battles.
