When he was smaller, Poli evolved into Poliwhirl to save him from drowning. He then evolved into Poliwrath later, once again to save Red from drowning in Vermillion Bay. Poli is the protective one of the team, he's always trying to make Red proud and stand up for his trainer. Poli will go to any lengths to keep Red safe, his protective urge obvious in the manner in which he has saved Red twice now. He hates to fail his trainer in any way, shape or form, and will continue to try even when he knows his strength is failing. He is always on the look out for trouble, especially since his trainer seems to unerringly find it every time.

SAUR NAME: Saur SPECIES: Venusaur GENDER: male EGG GROUP: Monster and Grass group MOVES: Razor Leaf Solar Beam Sleep Powder Vine Whip Takedown Leech Seed Frenzy Plant Synthesis THE POKEMON: Red received Saur from Professor Oak at the very beginning of his journey, when he accidently set him loose only to retrieve him himself. Saur is one of Red's favourites, and one of his closest partners because of that. Reliable and trusting, Saur is the gentle giant of the group, protective over others and gentle with strangers. He has none of the distrust of people that one might expect of him, and is rather steadfast and determined. Calm and reliable, Saur isn't the type to be bothered by upsets in the world around him, simply continuing on as always.

PIKA NAME: Pika SPECIES: Pikachu GENDER: male EGG GROUP: field group MOVES: Substitute Thunder Surf Volt Tackle Thunderbolt Thundershock Thunder Wave Iron Tail THE POKEMON: Pika was originally a wild pest for the people of Pewter City, right up to the point where Red captured him for his own. At first, getting along appeared to be a problem, but you wouldn't think it for the way Pika acts towards Red. If there was a favourite in Red's team, it would definitely be Pika. Cheerful and friendly like Red, Pika is usually initially mistrustful of strangers and later warms up to them if they prove to be no danger. Aside from Red, he is particularly fond of Yellow and Green. Playful and affectionate, Pika loves being cuddled and reassured by others, and will eagerly engage in any sort of game one is willing to throw out.

VEE NAME: Vee SPECIES: Espeon GENDER: male EGG GROUP: field group MOVES: Confusion Psybeam Swift Future Sight Detect Sand Attack Last Resort -- THE POKEMON: Vee stuff

SNOR NAME: Snor SPECIES: Snorlax GENDER: male EGG GROUP: monster MOVES: Earthquake Rest Headbutt Mega Punch Double Edge Mega Kick Strength Tackle THE POKEMON: Snor joined the team quite simply: he was in the way. Considering his bulk, it's not surprising that the large Pokemon was holding up traffic, and Red's solution? Capture it and add it to the Pokedex. Later on, he's realised what an asset Snor can be in battle, though the Pokemon in question is generally lazy. Like the rest of his species, Snor doesn't like to do more than is absolutely necessary, he prefers to sleep and eat to battle, and when he does battle, he expects to be rewarded with... you guessed it, food. As long as his stomach is full and he's had a nap, Snor is friendly and lazily playful, allowing Pika to clamber over him as he sleeps if that is what he wishes. Waking him up can prove to be an issue, and Red has since stopped trying. When Snor sleeps, Red lets him.

AERO NAME: Aero SPECIES: Aerodactyl GENDER: male EGG GROUP: Flying group MOVES: Hyper Beam Ice Fang Dragon Claw Takedown Rock Slide Giga Impact Fire Fang Thunder Fang THE POKEMON: Once a fossil recieved from Giovanni, Aero is Red's only form of aerial movement. Reconstructed from Old Amber, Aero is a type of Pokemon who's time has been and gone.. not that you could tell him that. Affectionate and cheerful, Aero is eager to please and quite the attention-lover. He adores having the spotlight, and will usually settle for no less - especially when there are women around. His trainer may be fairly oblivious, but Aero is not, and he is determined to have a horde of lovely females showering him with attention.
